Afrobeats superstar Davido has just released his sixth (6th) studio album titled ORIADE, he described it as a new chapter in his 15-year music career.
The album made up of 13-track project features a blend of African and international artistes, including Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, Fola, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay.
Davido announced the album on release on July 29th, revealing that the album is ready and will shoot on the 31st of July. He made the annouincement on his social media pages with a video of him officially announcing the arrival if his next project, dressed elegantly in a royal Yoruba attire and a Yoruba eulogy reflecting the spirit of the album’s title ORIDA, “The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne” he added as caption to the video.
Davido had maintained a 17 track album in all his track except this current one Oriade that got shortend by two tracks making it a total of fifteen(15) tracks. Davido intend to prepare for his wourld tour and posible suprised visit to boost the success of the newly released album.
The singer had innitially introduced the ORIADE album with a singer he release ealier, title I KNOW WHO I BE featuring South African duo JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay. The song reflect on his 15 year music career and his life so far. The video showcased the childhood home where his musical career began and features appearances of his team.
I his recent interveiw, Davido offered an insight into the album, disclosing that it contains music intended to appeal todifferent cathegories of listeners.
After the release Davido also announced that the ORIADE album will be his last project with Sony Music, as contract finally come to any end after many years of good relationship, stating that he is alway ready to do more with them if they are willing to work with him anytime.
Davido has also begun announcing dates for the world tour supporting the album, following the success of his 5IVE tour, which included major stops across five Nigerian cities.
