The Brasilian had every top clubs wanting to sign him. At the age of eighteen(18), Robinho led Santos to winning their first title that was last won during Pele’s era. Santos had waited for decades for the title until he came and won it with the rest of his teammates in 2002 leading them to their first Brazilian title after decades of waiting.
He got signed by Spanish Giant, Real Madrid in 2005, then the English giant broke the transfer record for him, signing him from Real Madrid in 2008, then followed by AC Millan. Everything was coming from one flash to another, But the talented player who was said to be the next legendary late Pele, couldn’t get his glorious moment in full.
Santos resigned him in 2020, then they revolted, and the deal collapsed within days after fans protested due to sponsors threatening to cancel deal with club. The club did not esitate to call off the contract with the man who once gave them the title that they waited to get for decades. That moment Robinho realized, a game that once adored him, no longer has a place for him.
His problems started in Milan back in 2013 when a woman’s life was changed forever.
While at Ac Milan, the Brazilian and five other men were accused of assuting a 22year old lady at a night clube in Milan. They were found guilty after Prosecutor later prove that they had deliberately incapacitated her with alcphol. She has lived with it ever since.
A Milan Court convicted Robinho of gang rape in 2017 and was sentenced to nine years in prison. An appeal court upheld it in 2020. I n 2022, Italy’s Supreme Court made the verdict definitive. Though, Rohinho never pleaded guity, as he kept denying it at every stage but every Court disagreed.
The Brazilian Court rulled that his sentence must be served becouse Brazil doesnt extradite its citizen, its highest court acknoledged the Italian sentense. So he was arrested at home in Santos in March 2024 and was taken to Tremembe penitentiary to serve his nine years.
