In a recent post made by Gumi, he referenced Traoré’s age, stated as 38, and his background, describing it as consisting only of military training.
Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi expressed the view that Traoré is too inexperienced to fully understand the political dynamics of the society he governs, as well as broader contemporary geopolitics, according to the post.
He also went on to specifically criticized what he described Traoré as anti-Sharia stance.
According to Gumi’s statement, adopting this stance risks giving extremist groups a tool to recruit additional fighters against Traoré’s government, which Gumi described as secular.
Gumi also stated that Sharia is a requirement, and that Traoré is still too young to understand its importance in a separate post where Gumi openly called for the application of Sharia Law.
Note, this is a information gathered but yet to be confirmed. Just as we are yet to record any response from the President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré or from the Burkina Faso government.
